Djokovic Advances To Second Round In Tokyo With Comfortable Dellien Victory
Novak Djokovic has progressed to the second round of the men’s singles at the Tokyo Olympics with a dominant victory over Hugo Dellien.
Djokovic showed no signs of slowing down at the Ariake Tennis Park, as he recorded a straight-sets victory in just under an hour, with both sets finishing 6-2.
It means that the Serb has now won his last 19 consecutive matches in singles, as he looks to securing the gold medal on his path to what he hopes will end with a so-called Golden Slam.
This achievement is a combination of the four majors with victory at the Olympic Games, and Steffi Graf is the only person to have done so back in 1988.
Djokovic’s next task is against Jan-Lennard Struff, the world No.48, in the second round on Monday.
