Valentine Ozigbo Congratulates Alex Otti On His Inuaguration As Abia State Governor

Valentine Ozigbo, a 2021 Anambra Gubernatorial Candidate, has extended his congratulations to Dr Alex Otti and his deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu, on their inauguration as the 5th democratic Governor and Deputy Governor, respectively, of Abia State on Monday, May 29, 2023.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Umuahia Township Stadium, and a reception immediately followed at the International Conference Center in Umuahia, Abia State.

Speaking to members of the press at the event, Mr Ozigbo, a multi-award-winning global CEO, extolled the new Abia Governor saying, “Dr. Alex Otti’s inauguration as the Governor of Abia State marks a momentous occasion not just for Abia, but for Nigeria as a whole.”

“His Excellency, Dr Otti carries with him a vision and leadership prowess that I have no doubt will bring transformational change.

“The jubilation since his election in March, and the sheer energy at his inauguration, is a testament to his widespread popularity and the high hopes placed in him by the people of Abia.

“As the second Labour Party governor in Nigeria’s history, he stands on the shoulders of a tradition dedicated to delivering people-centred governance.

“I sincerely wish Dr Otti and the good people of Abia a fruitful and prosperous tenure,” Ozigbo added.

Notable public officials, business moguls, political leaders, and top-tier entertainers attended the occasion. Among them were Sen. Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party Vice Presidential candidate, who represented His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi; Barr. Julius Abure, the Labour Party National Chairman; Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe (Rtd), a former Vice President of Nigeria; HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the former Emir of Kano and former Central Bank Governor; and Rt Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, a former Governor of Rivers State and former minister of Transportation.

Others distinguished guests were Senator Adolphus Wabara, who was represented by Engr. Felix Wabara; Senator Athan Achonu, the Labour Party Governorship Candidate for Imo State; Chief Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman of Innoson Motors; Dr. Cosmas Maduka, Chairman of Coscharis Group; Prof Bart Nnaji, a former minister of power; and Senator Ike Nwachukwu, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed performances from leading entertainers. Among them were Dike Chukwumerije, a celebrated Nigerian spoken word and performance poetry artist, Bright Okpocha (stage name Basket Mouth), Abia-born Micheal Ugochukwu Stephens (stage name Ruggedman), Comedian Funny Bone, and popular musician David Adeleke, famously known as Davido.

The event marked the commencement of the tenure of Dr Alex Otti, a former Diamond Bank Chief Executive Officer, thought leader, and philanthropist, setting the stage for his leadership as the new governor of Abia State.
