Senator Tokunbo Abiru Congratulates Dr Fatai-Abatan, Lagos NYCN Chair, Oba On New Laurels

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Industries and the Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA on Tuesday congratulated the Lagos State Chapter chairman, the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Comrade Olalekan Billiamin Oba and MegaXpression Media Publisher, Hon Shakiru Seidu on their appointments as members, Ikorodu Town Hall Management Board.

In a congratulatory message issued by Enitan Olukotun, the Media Aide to the distinguished Senator, quoted Abiru as saying that the recognition from Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group, IDRDG is ‘yet another testament to the industry , hard work and resourcefulness and dedication of the inductees to the development of Lagos State and Ikorodu in particular’.

Senator Abiru, while celebrating the achievements of  Oba and Seidu, reiterated his passion for seeing young people succeed in their chosen fields and career. He urged other young folks in Ikorodu and beyond to take a cue from Oba whose leadership dexterity in managing the affairs of youth in Lagos State has been serially commended and also learn from Shakiru Seidu, a dedicated member of the All Progressives Congress, APC who nurtured a local media outlet into a respected media brand in Ikorodu and beyond.

In the same vein, the Distinguished Senator also congratulated another illustrious son of Ikorodu,  Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, PhD who was appointed as Chairman, Lagos State University Scholarship Scheme for University Scholars.

Dr Fatai-Abatan, a highly cerebral scholar, chaired the Senator Tokunbo Abiru Bursary Scheme  Board that endowed 600 higher institution students across the Lagos East Senatorial District with bursaries in October 2021 .

The Ikorodu-born scholar is a Senior Lecturer, Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Lagos State University, Ojo.
