Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake says that he would rather miss out on the summer’s Olympic Games than to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The Games are set for this summer, having been rescheduled due to COVID-19, and the second fastest man to ever sprint 100 metres and 200 metres has come out with some surprising yet defiant comments.

“My mind still stays strong, I don’t want any vaccine,” Blake said. “I’d rather miss the Olympics than have the vaccine, I am not having it.

“I don’t really want to get into it now, but I have my reasons.”

The 31-year-old is hoping to take part in his third Olympic Games in Tokyo.
