Obasa Youth Alliance Pay Condolence Visit To Odunmakin’s Family

The Obasa Youth Alliance (OYA), on Saturday, visit Dr. Joe Okei-Odunmakin.

The group which consist of all local government coordinators of OYA was at Odunmakin’s residence to visit his family over the death of her husband, late Yinka Odunmakin.

The group coordinator, Comrade Jamiu Ademosu, the Vice-Chairman, (Lagos West) of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lagos chapter led other members of the OYA to condole with the family.

Yinka Odunmakin, who died on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at the age of 54 at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital from Coronavirus complications.

The deceased, who was a Nigerian human rights activist and until his death, he was the national publicity secretary of Afenifere, a Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group.

Recall, the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, had on April 6, 2021, led delegations of lawmakers from the state Assembly to the Omole Phase 1, Lagos home of the former Afenifere spokesman.

The OYA leaders expressed their sympathy and prayed for the repose of the departed soul.

The group coordinators who consist of leaders and comrades of student and youth groups spread across Lagos saw the need to pay last respect to the family.

The group expressed further that learnt a lot from the activism and struggle for a better Yoruba race of the late Odunmakin and his wife.

The founder of the OYA group, Secretary to Agege Local Government, Comrade Gbenga Abiola (aka Agbelebu) who was unavoidably absent also sent his condolence messages to the family.

The widow, Okei-Odunmaki, on behalf of his family, thanked the comrades for their solidarity.
