
Legends Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal teamed up to lead Europe to 9-3 overall lead over the World on Saturday.
In the inaugural Laver Cup played in Prague, US Open champion Nadal edged Jack Sock in a match tiebreak 6-3, 3-6, [11-9].
Roger Federer then rolled past Sam Querrey 6-4, 6-2.
In the evening, Nick Kyrgios got the World team two points t with a 4-6, 7-6, [10-6] victory.
Then, Federer and Nadal teamed for a win over Querrey and Sock 6-4, 1-6, [10-5].
“After being rivals for so many years, to be in the same part of the court fighting for a team is something special,” said Nadal
Added Federer, “We’re essentially singles players who play a bit of doubles and I don’t think that’s going to change.”
Europe needs two more victories from Sunday’s four games to win.
