Rafael Nadal beat Jannik Sinner 7-5, 6-3, 6-0 on Monday to quality for the French Open quarter-finals for the 15th time in his career.
Despite being 2-0 down in the opening set, Sinner came back to grab a 4-2 lead, but Nadal calmly turned it around to win the first set 7-5.
Sinner seemed to be facing vision issues and went to the dressing room twice, with Nadal comfortably winning the next two sets to clinch qualification to the next round.
There, Nadal will face Diego Schwartzman who defeated Jan-Lennard Struff 7-6, 6-4,7-5 to progress to the quarterfinals of the Roland Garros.
Schwartzman and Nadal have faced each other 11 times, with the Spaniard having won all but one match. This will be the third time they play against each other in the French Open following the 2018 quarter-finals and the 2020 semi-finals.
