An International Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Mudathir Kolawole Sulaiman (Cesse), has emerged the new Grand Kalifah of Tijaniyyah in Osun State.
The position became vacant after the demise of his predecessor, late Sheikh Ibraheem Alakoniyi Idowu from Ila-Orangun.
Mudathir Sulaiman Cesse, after a series of intensive deliberation found to be competent and eminently qualified for the vacant stool, hence, the letter of appointment was issued to the great scholar with universal followership at Ogbaga, near Iwo town after a brief turbaning ceremony.
The letter reads thus:
“Sequel to the meeting of the above association held on 24th January, 2021, at Ogbaga in Iwo area of Osun State of the whole house on the above subject matter, and the decision which unanimously elected you as the Grand Khalifah of Osun State Tijaniyyah Association.

“We pray to God Almighty to assist you and be with you to further the development and the growth of the association bi-karamoti Maolana Sheikh Ibraheem NYASS.”
The letter, dated January 24, 2021, and signed by the association’s Secretary, Alhaji Adam Hamed on behalf of the Osun State Tijaniyyah Association of Nigeria, copies of which were sent to the Governor of the State of Osun, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola.
The kingmaker also copied: Sheikhs in Kaola, Senegal, Grand Assembly for Faydah Tijaniyyah South-West, Nigeria, Osun League of Imam and Alfas, South-West, Nigeria, All Muslim Obas in Osun State, Associations of Tijaniyyah of Nigeria and All Muslim Associations in Osun State.
In a phone chat with worldtopnewsng.com spoke from his Igbaye home town in Odo-Otin LG Osun State, Mudathir confirmed the development: “It’s confirmed, an elaborate ceremony to further celebrate the title on the way after total decline in COVID-19 cases, even at that, we’ll celebrate with modesty.”
