Mercedes and the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) have confirmed that Lewis Hamilton has tested negative for COVID-19 and will return to racing at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend.
George Russell, who replaced Hamilton at the Sakhir Grand Prix, will return to Williams and his temporary replacement, Jack Aikten, will stand down after debuting last weekend.
Hamilton was forced out of the Sakhir GP after contracting coronavirus and testing positive on Monday, November 30. After a 10-day self-isolation, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion is set to return to racing.
