Lagos LG Poll: Odunmbaku Casts Vote, Expresses Optimism Of Victory For His Party

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku, was one of the first in the queue of over 200 residents at his Ward E in Omole area of Ojodu, Worldtopnewsng reports.

David alongside his father Cardinal James Odunmbaku, a member Lagos APC Governor Advisory Council, GAC, and his wife, Abimbola arrived at their polling unit 031 Ward E at Budland Street, Akiode area of Ojodu LCDA at around 11:02am.

Addressing journalists after casting his vote, Odunmbaku, asserted that he’s optimistic of victory. “Of course, nobody comes to election to play or lose. So victory is ours in this election,” he said.

He added that: “We quite confident that we have done the needful, we have campaign all through the wards and zones, we have been to tell them why we are going to the council, why they need to support our agenda so we pretty confident of that after today is to celebrate.”

Odunmbaku further admonished voters to come out en-mass and peacefully cast their votes for candidates of their choice, noting that, whatever they are doing is about serving the people and not personal. “As you can see it’s relatively peaceful, people are going about their civic engagement, lining up against the candidates of their choice and so far so good it has been peaceful,” he asserted.

“It’s been interesting because this is the first time they will see one of them been on the ballot paper so that makes it interesting so an expecting a big turnout.”

On the preparation of the election, he applauded the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for putting things together within short time. “Is quite impressive, I have to give it to LASIEC, the organisation is top-notch, the preparation is quite early, everybody is able to vote,” Odunmbaku noted.

On the security situation, Odunmbaku, commended security operatives for ensuring the safety of electoral officers and materials. “The security agencies have been on ground, NLSC, State Command, Area G and F DPOs have been on ground, a big thank you to the security agencies, they have done fantastically well.”
