The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the most active teams since the NBA free agency period opened at 00:00 on Saturday, November 20. One of the biggest moves so far has been their acquisition of Montrezl Harrell. Rob Pelinka moved fast to clinch the first surprise of the night, the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year for 2020, having been a key player for the LA Clippers.

Harrell signs with the Lakers for two seasons and 19 million dollars – around 16 million euros. He averages 18.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. The Lakers also brought in Wesley Matthews on a one-year deal worth 3.6m dollars – around 3m euros – having spent last year with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The move has caused a stir in Los Angeles, with the Clippers shocked to see him switch allegiances. Patrick Beverley, Clippers point guard, didn’t hide his anger on social media upon hearing of the move.
