IRAAS Honours Ooni of Ife, Prominent Royal Fathers At Inaugural Event

Eminent Nigerians on Friday, May 7, 2021, converged at Ile Oodua palace in Ile Ife, Osun State to honour the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adedeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi and other top traditional rulers in Yoruba land.

The International Recognition and Appreciation Award is a brainchild of Prophetess Princess Princess Elizabeth Olubisi Oyenekan, which was birthed to honour, appreciate and recognise the individual contribution to the socio-economic development and growth of the nation.

However, the convener of the event described the award as a symbol of responsibility to uphold the Omoluabi spirit — the spirit of integrity, the spirit of perseverance, and the spirit of mobility amongst the Yorubas at home and in the diaspora.

She continues, it is also meant to encourage people who are valuable to the society to continue to influence their community positively while our mission is to give service to humanity and recognise excellence in various field of service”.

Apart from the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adedeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, other notable monarchs who were honoured include Oba Dr Ambassador Olusegun Aderemi (Atayero of Aramoko Ekiti), Oba Adesoji Kehinde Oladepo (Salu of Edunabon), Oba Babatunde Adetokunbo Awosunle (Elejesi of Ejesi-Ife Kingdom) and Yeye Lara Fashola Fanimokun (Yeye Olokun of Lagos).

On why the inaugural edition of the award was staged in the Palace of Ooni, Princess Elizabeth Olubisi Oyenekan reveals that it was done to show to the entire world that it is genuine and authentic. It also shows the acceptability of the foundation by the royal fathers.

Furthermore, the convener stated that The International Recognition and Appreciation Award has come to stay as plans are in the offing to continue to recognise individuals with selfless service to humanity, visitation to motherless babies home and Orphanages, taking care of the widows and the less privileged in the society.

Prophetess Princess Elizabeth Olubisi Oyenekan hails from Edo State with her maternal background (Omo Agbo ile Ologbenla) from Ile-Ife, Osun State.
She presently resides in the United Kingdom.
