While noting that the group stands for unity, peace and development of the country, Nigeria, and her heterogeneous tribes, Shittu said it champions the good cause of Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo administration across the country.
He said despite President Muhammadu Buhari’s strict stance on discipline, “It is human not to be able to satisfy all as evident in the commendations and criticism which have perpetually put him on his toes and alive to his responsibilities.”
According to him, Buhari’s antecedents in the days of the military regime paved the way for being the choice in 2015 general elections at a time when there was a lacuna in the political space of the country.
He explained that it was Buhari’s character that made him acceptable and most suitable to fill the gap so created, adding that, it was not surprising that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party stalwarts considered him worthy of the exalted office.
“President Muhammadu Buhari is retired but not tired, tall in height, fragilely framed, elegant, cool-headed, compassionate and passionate about good governance.
“These have made him turn deaf ears to acrimonious antagonism from enemies of progress,” the minister said.
Speaking on Professor Yemi Osinbajo, he said, he is a perfect match for his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, taking into consideration the duo’s nature.
He said they are transparent, patriotic and selfless, saying “just like his boss, the Vice President is conscientiously moderate and modest in his style of leadership.”
“The effectiveness and accommodating disposition displayed by both is a proof of a tendency to labour with no ulterior motive to betray each other,” he said.
The Chairman Board of Trustees noted that during the medical vacation of the President abroad, the Vice President displayed his loyalty and allegiance to his boss by taking control of leadership without any ill-motives, whether for selfish interest or other personal motives.
While noting that the Vice President was a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State, he said, he is a committed man of God and has consistently displayed this by acting in that direction.
“The duo of PMB and Osinbajo are clear indication that God has His hand in the affairs of this country. Both men have, from time to time, displayed quality leadership which can only be evident in men who are being directed by God.
“Their leadership has been so exemplary that only the discerning minds would readily understand that Nigeria is in the right hands,” he added.
Shittu stressed that it was no exaggeration that experience, exposure, excellence and expertise are sine qua non when nature wants to justify one as deserving to be placed in a position of responsibility and authority as evident in the lives of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
