Wimbledon 2021: History Awaits Djokovic, Federer

Spread the love

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer are both heading into this year’s Wimbledon tournament with their sights set on the top prize in London.

The pair are on opposite sides of the draw going into the competition, meaning they can only meet in the final, which would be a repeat of their 2019 showdown.

Djokovic will be trying to win his third Wimbledon title in a row and Federer is in pursuit of the 21st major win of his career.

A third straight success would bring the Serbian’s 20th major victory and would bring him level with Rafa Nadal and Federer for top title wins.

Federer isn’t in his best form at the moment, but cannot be written off as he goes into his favourite tournament of the tour.

The Swiss star currently holds the record number of Wimbledon titles with eight and will be looking to add to that over the coming weeks with a victory his preferred event set to make him the player with the most Grand Slam titles in history with 21.

Rada Nadal has withdrawn from the tournament after a hectic season on clay, and could pave the way for one of Djokovic or Federer to go all the way and make history at the All England club.
