The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for chairmanship of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Seyi Jakande, has officially launched his campaign promising continuity and enhancement of the community’s developmental initiatives.

Speaking at a press conference held at his late father’s house attended by local media representatives and all the APC Councillorship candidates in the Council, Hon. Jakande emphasized the importance of collaboration between the press and the local governance.

“Your diligent reporting and insightful analysis are transformative,” Jakande stated, acknowledging the media’s role in amplifying community voices. “The partnership between the press and the LCDA is invaluable, and I truly appreciate your commitment to fostering transparency and accountability.”

Reflecting on his tenure as Vice Chairman, Seyi who is the son of the former Governor of Lagos State, late Alhaji Lateef Jakande, expressed gratitude for the opportunities to serve alongside the current chairman, Hon. Rasaq Ajala. “Together, we have laid the groundwork for transformative milestones in infrastructure, healthcare, and education,” he noted, emphasizing the importance of sustaining these achievements.

During the conference, Seyi responded to pressing issues affecting the community, including security challenges, environmental impact, voter apathy, and the agricultural sector among others as asked by the press men on the ground. “Our commitment to enhancing security measures is paramount,” he asserted. “We will implement robust strategies to ensure a safe and vibrant environment for all residents.”

Addressing the issue of voter apathy, he urged community members to engage actively in the electoral process. “Your voice matters. It’s time to rise and make a choice for our future,” he declared.

Seyi’s HEWA framework, which focuses on Health, Education, Works, and Agriculture, served as the foundation for his vision for the LCDA. “We are dedicated to improving healthcare facilities and adopting sustainable practices,” he outlined. “Our commitment to education will empower our youth, ensuring they are equipped to innovate and lead confidently.

In his closing remarks, Seyi expressed optimism for a united path forward. “I am eager to work alongside all stakeholders to drive the positive changes we envision for our community,” he stated. “Together, we will champion a comprehensive and sustainable development agenda that elevates the quality of life for our residents.”

Seyi concluded with an invitation to the community, asking for their support and trust as he embarks on this journey. “Let us make this campaign a celebration of hope, unity, and progress,” he urged, promising that a warm welcome and open dialogue would always await at the council.

The event underscored a pivotal moment in local governance, as Jakande seeks to build upon the firm foundation laid by his predecessor, aiming for an Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye that thrives on collaboration, innovation, and sustained progress.
