The Senate President was in Ilorin during the weekend to celebrate his acquittal by Supreme Court with people of Kwara State.
Saraki, the political leader of the state, said he is aware that the Governor Ahmed led administration has introduced different empowerment programmes to reduce unemployment among the youths.
He commended his successor for initiating people oriented policies and projects amidst financial challenges facing the country.
The Senate President, who ruled the state from 2003-2011, noted that during his days as governor things were not difficult like what governors are experiencing now.
“During my days as governor, we don’t have the financial challenge the government is facing now. The issue of non-payment of salaries was not there. The crisis is also affecting the federal government and other states nationwide.
“I know the incumbent governor is trying his best despite the difficult situation. I will urge the people of the state to continue to support the government.” He explained.
