PRNigeria Bags African Public Affairs Award In Morocco

The PRNigeria Press Release platform has bagged the Certificate of Excellence of 2017 Africa SABRE Award on Public Affairs Category which was hosted by the African Public Relations Association (APRA) in Casablanca, Morocco.

The Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC) also received a Certificate of Excellence as Non-Governmental Organisation in West Africa for its extensive campaigns on Crisis Management.

The campaigns of the two award recipients was undertaken by the Image Merchants Promotion Limited, the young PR firm that won 2016 Golden World Award of International Public Relations Association (IPRA) on Crisis Management.

Another Nigerian PR firm, Red Media Africa led the Western Africa category for its sterling work on Facebook boss, Mark Zuckerberg’s inaugural visit to Nigeria in 2016.

Speaking on the awards, the founder of PRNigeria, Mr. Yushau Shuaib commended the organisers of the event for recognising the best of PR practice in Africa. Shuaib said: “We thank the organisers for recognising campaigns of PRNigeria and CCC executed by a PR firm, Image Merchant Promotion. We are sincerely humble to be so recognized and honored among global giants in Public Relations and Communication.”

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of Centre for Crisis Communication, Air Commodore Yusuf Anas (Rtd) expressed appreciation for Continental Award.

Anas said: “As a Non-governmental Organisation in Crisis Management, we will continue to boost the capacity  of professional communicators and ensure the the critical stakeholders maintain mutual relationship and discharge their duties responsibly and professionally.”

The President of African Public Relations Association (APRA), Yomi Badejo-Okusanya said that the award would be an annual event to showcase a unique dimension in PR practice in the African region and the world.

He said: “APRA is delighted to have partnered with The Holmes Report to launch the Sabre Awards Africa.”

The Chairman of Sabre Judges, Paul Holmes commended the w=award recipients adding that “We have seen some exceptional public relations work from Africa, with campaigns that are strategic, creative and effective.”

Other winners at the SABRE Award Africa 2017 included Burson-Marsteller, Djembe Communications, Edelman, FleishmanHillard, Hill+Knowlton, Others include Magna Carta Reputation, Ogilvy Public Relations, Red Media Africa and Weber Shandwick.
