Tigres Beat Palmeiras To Reach Club World Cup Final

For the first time since the Club World Cup adopted the current format in 2005, a team from Concacaf will be in the final.

Tigres have made history, with the Mexican side knocking out South American champions Palmeiras.

Andre-Pierre Gignac scored the game’s only goal, after also netting two against Ulsan in the quarter-finals. He scored in the 54th minute after Carlos Gonzalez won a penalty.

Palmeiras finished well and Luiz Adriano almost equalised for the Brazilians, but Tigres held on to make history.

They’ll face the winner of Bayern Munich vs Al Ahly, the other semi-final which takes place on Monday.
