Oscar de la Hoya is again considering a return to the ring, as he hopes to secure a fight against Floyd Mayweather.

The 48-year-old was originally supposed to make his return to boxing against Vitor Belfort, following a 13-year absence from the sport, but he tested positive for COVID-19 and ended up having to spent five days in hospital as a result, which caused Evander Holyfield to step in and replace him.

Now, according to TMZ Sports, De la Hoya is offering Mayweather 100 million dollars to step into the ring and fight him.

Mayweather was one of the five boxers De la Hoya lost to in his career, and now he is looking to exact revenge against the 44-year-old.

The last professional fight Mayweather was involved in was his match-up against Conor McGregor in 2017, which he won, and since then he has taken part in the occasional exhibition bout, such as his fight against Logan Paul in June 2021.
