#OndoDecides: Nigeria On Way To Democratic Advancement – CDPA Boss

President, Centre for Democracy and Political Advancement (CDPA), Ondo State Chapter, Comrade Bamiwo Adeniyi, has said that, the peaceful conduct of Saturday election in Ondo State was an indication that the country is moving gradually towards political and democratic advancement.

Comrade Adeniyi, made the remarks at Ore town where he told journalist that, the attitude of the people on Saturday has caused hope to rise that it would soon be Uhuru for the country democratically, politically and electorally.

The elated Election Monitor, who declared that the Saturday exercise was free and fair, said, the exercise has convinced the people that hope has started rising that Nigerians are tired of politics of hatred and bitterness that always led to violence during elections.

While enthusing that the country is capable of conducting free and fair election, the CDPA boss therefore urged the people to sustain and improve on the peaceful conduct of the Saturday election, asserting that, the country would earn respect globally if her electoral process is cleaned up.

He enthused that, that would signal the end to ‘win at all cost’ attitude of some politicians who see politics as war and thereby put Nigeria on her proper place on the world map of democracy, expressing the delight that, “Nigeria can become more respected democratically in our own generation.”

Adeniyi was so full of excitement when commending all the stakeholders that made the poll free and fair with the potential to make the final outcome very credible and acceptable to all involved, warning however that, the tempo should be sustained and even improved upon if the country truly aspires to move forward democratically.

He directed his commendation towards the contestants, political parties, the electorate and the electoral umpires,-the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as well as both the local and international monitors and observers, saying, their efforts at guaranteeing a free and fair election in the state on Saturday.

Commenting on the security situation, Adeniyi praised all the security personnel across board for the professional way they handle all the expected hiccups that could have snowballed into crises of an unimaginable proportion.
