Ologba Of Ogbaland, Oba Egbeyemi Pays Homage To Late Jafojo Family
The Ologba of Ogbaland, Oba Lateef Oladimeji Egbeyemi, commenced his Royal Ascension on Thursday with prayers held at the home of the late Chief Rafiu Adeyefa Jafojo, who served as the first deputy governor of Lagos State.
The monarch emphasized the significance of paying respects to the Jafojo family, highlighting the former deputy governor’s influence on his life.
He stated, “It’s a home calling for me and a time to remember and appreciate the good legacies late Chief Rafiu Jafojo left behind. He was instrumental to what I have become today as a true Awori man”
“He played a major role in the lives of many Youths, especially the sons and daughters of Awori land. It’s a thing of Joy that late Chief Jafojo left behind good sons and daughters that have continued with the good legacies their late father left behind.”
“I also appreciate all the Jafojo Family both in Nigeria and abroad for their support and understanding, again for upholding the legacies left behind by a man worthy of emulation, a man who has impacted the lives of so many positively, both biological and non-biological children.”
“Today is a great day in my life because it avail me to come and say thanks to the man who gave me an opportunity to serve Lagos State as a civil servant and to the good family he left behind.”
In his response, Adewale Jafojo appreciated the monarch for paying homage to his family.
“It is incredibly motivating, and I take pride in the Ologba of Ogbaland; it is heartwarming to see individuals express gratitude. It’s natural for someone to have supported you, which is why the Ologba of Ogbaland reflects on his beginnings and has come here to initiate his ascension with prayers. We, the Jafojo family, feel honoured that he has remembered our late father.”
Adewale who was former Chief of Staff to the Speaker of Lagos State further urged the government to intensify efforts in alleviating the hardships faced by the country.
Attendees at the event included former House of Representatives member Hon. Hakeem Muniru, market leaders, and numerous influential politicians from Ikeja, among others.
Prayers were offered in memory of the late Chief Jafojo, as well as for all the sons and daughters of Aworiland.
