Ojodu LCDA Organizes Food Relief Programme
Residents of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) were full of praise for the David Segun Odunmbaku-led administration as they benefited from the food relief programme tagged “Zero Hunger” in which food products from the Ojodu LCDA food bank were sold to the residents of the council area at discounted prices.
The food relief programme which was oversubscribed and patronized by residents in the council secretariat on Wednesday, witnessed people from all walks of life take advantage of the subsidized prices of the commodities to purchase food products that were sold.
In his remark, the council boss who was represented at the event by the council’s Secretary to the Local Government, Mr Olaide John Bello said the food programme was borne out of the need to contribute his administration’s quota as a responsive government towards ensuring the food security of the people.
He explained further: “We aim to reach out to all citizens in Ojodu LCDA through the provisions of these discounted food items and other palliatives that would serve as succour, particularly at this critical time of economic hardship.”
The Ojodu Community Development, Committee (CDC) Chairman, Mr Benjamin Abiona showered encomiums on Odunmbaku for pioneering such a programme.
Present at the meeting includes the Supervisor For Agriculture, Mr Wale Larinde, Director of Agricultural and Community Development, Mr Lekan Otukoya, exco members and management.
