The mantle of leadership was today handed over from Comrade Friday Spence Idighri to Comrade Barth Ineh Ozah in a well attended ceremony to inaugurate the new executive of Indigenous Newspapers/Magazines Chapel (INMC) at the Chapel’s Secretariat, in Asaba.

Spence who had piloted the affairs of the Chapel for two terms of six years, was showered with encomiums for positioning the Chapel as the envy of others. He was commended by stakeholders and members alike for a job well done, while wishing him success in his future endeavour in the Union.

Barth Ozah in his usual simplistic manner, affirmed the need to forge ahead as one united and progressive Chapel of practitioners. He pledged to serve without recourse to bitterness and rancour, calling on all members to join hands with him to take the group to the next positive level.

Meanwhile, leaders of NUJ, including the former State Council Chairman, Comrade Osita Biose, the immediate past Chairman of State Information Chapel, Comrade Salvation Ogono and ITV Correspondent, Comrade David who were present, congratulated Barth Ozah on his victory as Chairman, while admonishing him to ensure every member is carried along in his programmes and policies.

It was a moment of expression as everybody was given opportunity to speak and give goodwill message to encourage the new executive to deliver on mandate.

The attendees were satisfactorily entertained, while the outgone chairman capped the joy and fun moment with a prayer of blessings to the chapel members and by extension all practicing journalists at large.
