Nigeria Reports 7 Fatalities, 104 New COVID-19 Infections

Nigeria on Sunday reported 104 new COVID-19 infections which take the total confirmed cases to 162,593.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in its daily update on the outbreak, said 7 persons died of complications while 103 patients recovered and were discharged from various isolation centres.

In a State-by-State analysis of the fresh cases, NCDC revealed that Lagos State recorded 48 infections, Enugu (16), Kwara (8), Kaduna (6), Plateau (5), Kano (5), Rivers (4), FCT(4), Ogun (4), Edo (2), Ekiti (1) and Katsina (1).

Meanwhile, a total of 513,626 Nigerians have been vaccinated against the deadly virus. This represents 25.5 percent of the nation’s total population as Kogi State is yet to start the vaccination process.
