Nets Beat Wizards 113-106, Griffin Makes Nets Debut
The Brooklyn Nets defeat the Washington Wizards 113-106 in six-time All-Star Blake Griffin’s debut game with the franchise late Sunday.
Nets’ duo Kyrie Irving and James Harden combined for 54 points to help the Nets beat the Wizards.
Irving scored 28 points and Harden added 26, while Nicolas Claxton came off the bench to have 16 points.
Griffin played with two points for the Nets.
For the Wizards, Russell Westbrook posted a triple-double with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists.
Rui Hachimura played with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Alex Len also added 20 points.
The Nets are in second place in the Eastern Conference with 29 wins and 14 losses.
Meanwhile, the Wizards have a 15-26 win/loss record.
Chris Paul becomes 6th player to reach 10,000 assists in NBA history
The Phoenix Suns defeated LeBron-less Lakers 111-94 while Chris Paul becomes the 6th player to reach 10,000 assists in NBA history.
Paul recorded a triple-double with 11 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds to become the sixth player to reach 10,000 assists in NBA history.
John Stockton, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Mark Jackson, and Magic Johnson had more assists than Paul.
Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton each scored 26 points for the Suns.
For the Lakers, LeBron James missed the game over his ankle injury, Montrezl Harrell had 23 points, and Dennis Schroder scored 22 points.
