NCC Board Chair, Idris Olorunimbe, Celebrities Attend Fifth Sound Sultan Ramadan Lecture

The fifth annual Ramadan lecture and iftar organized by The Temple Company in honour of late Nigerian music icon, Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi, popularly known as Sound Sultan, brought together prominent figures from across Nigeria’s public and entertainment sectors on Tuesday in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Among the dignitaries present was the Chairman of the Board of Nigerian Communications Commission, Idris Olorunimbe, alongside award-winning Nigerian actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji. The gathering also attracted several well-known personalities, including video jockey, television presenter and entrepreneur VJ Adams and reality TV star Tobi Bakre.

The annual event, which combines spiritual reflection with communal breaking of the Ramadan fast, continues to serve as a platform to honour Sound Sultan’s legacy of social consciousness, faith, and unity.

Delivering the lecture, respected Islamic scholar Imam Abdurrahman Ahmad spoke on the importance of spiritual preparedness and “morning fortification” as tools for maintaining focus and discipline in daily life. He also urged attendees to use digital gadgets responsibly, warning against excessive distraction and information overload.

 

 

 

Ahmad emphasised that managing noise, both literal and mental is essential for personal growth, productivity, and spiritual well-being, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event drew a wide range of guests from the entertainment industry, corporate sector and religious community, reflecting Sound Sultan’s enduring influence and the continued relevance of the values he championed.
