LeBron James Ruled Out For Several Weeks
The Los Angeles Lakers have every reason to be concerned about their ability to defend their NBA crown this term, with LeBron James being ruled out for several weeks.
James suffered a severe sprain in his right ankle against the Atlanta Hawks, and whilst the layoff period is difficult to predict with certainty, it will not merely be a matter of day-to-day evaluation.
Shams Charania, a journalist for the Athletic, confirmed that the expectation in Los Angeles is that LeBron will be out of action for several weeks.
This latest injury is a further setback for the Lakers, who have been forced to be without Anthony Davis for large parts of the 2021 season, with the former New Orleans Pelican missing 15 games already with both tendinosis and a calf strain in his right leg.
“Nothing angers and saddens me more than not being available to and for my teammates,” LeBron tweeted
“I’m hurt inside and out right now. The road back from recovery begins now. Back soon like I never left.”
