As the Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) games is getting hot and better, teams struggle to gain spot in next quarter-finals stage of the competition.
It was another powerful encounter between team Lagos State University (LASU) and Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT). The game wasn’t an interesting one but both teams manage to maintain their positions on the pitch of play because of heavy rainfall and the pitch turn to mud.
Team LASU were more focused as the game continue despite the bad football pitch.
As the game went on Hamza Kamaldeeen, 200Level from department of political science paced the ball to the left side of the field and dribble the defender into the 18 yard box, the defender slide him down which result to a penalty kick.

LASU were put in front through penalty kick played by Akinola Lateef, from the department of Political Science.
ESUT also didn’t relent and had their chances in the 2nd half of the game with a across from the right side which their striker netted the ball with his left leg to the goal post to make it 1-1.
The striker received red card when he pulled down his play pant during his jubilation.

The tempo of the game was high while Kamaldeeen had another chance to pace the ball and shoot to the back of the net but ESUT keeper was very fortunate to save the ball to the corner kick.
Earlier, other group match between FUK Gombe and ATBU also ended in furious 1-1 draw.
The Group is widely open for any team to qualify to the quarter-final stage today (Wednesday, 26th April, 2017), where LASU will trade tackle with Abubakar Tafa-Balewa University (ATBU), while FUK Gombe will also play ESUT simultaneously.
