Lagos ‘23: Our Confidence In Sawo-Olu/Hamzat Victory Solid – SAFOGA

A political campaign group, Sanwo-Olu for Governor Again (SAFOGA), has said that its conviction in the ability and capability of the joint ticket of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr, Kadir Babafemi Hamzat to carry the day on March 11, 2023, gubernatorial election remains solid, intact and unshakable.

The group, which was recently launched in Lagos, according to its leader, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, was formed purposely to assist in galvanizing support and mobilising votes for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC), governorship candidate’s second term aspiration in office along with his deputy.

Explaining this to our reporter in his office in Lagos Saturday, Olokoba said, “reason for our love for their return to office again was borne out of the undisputable facts they have performed excellently since their assumption of office on May 29, 2019,” pointing out the senselessness of changing a winning team right in the middle of the game.

According to him, a critical look has been taken as at the governor’s performance and conclusion has been reached by the group after several consultations with stakeholders within and beyond the state before arriving at the decision that, it would be irresponsible for anybody to toy with the idea of replacing Sanwo-Olu and his team of competent hands at this point in time when continuation of his good job is highly required.

“With what we have seen in his first term, there is the sure tendency, capability and ability to hit the ground running based on his proper knowledge of the terrain. And it would be fool hardy for any person or group of people to want to toy with the idea of handling a sophisticated state like Lagos over to some non-starter for trial and error experiment. And it is against this background, that we have decided to go with a progressive party with a progressive mind to float this organization for the benefit of all and sundry,” Olokoba submitted.

On what the group has been doing to make sure the governor coast home victoriously on March 11, the human rights activist and pro-democracy advocate said, “first and foremost, we have distributed our members across all the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), to sensitize the people on the need and importance of Permanent Voters Cards’ collection,” saying, “that is already going on along with the emphasis on why we should all vote Sanwo-Olu and other APC candidates in the general election that commences on February 25 and possibly end on March 11.”

He, therefore urged the good people of the state to go out for their PVCs in preparation to vote en masse for the team that has built positively on the foundation solidly built by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 1999-2003 and consolidated by Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), assuring that, “since he has not disappointed us thus far, he will not disappoint us in his second term.”
