Jakande Hosts 2026 Budget Retreat For Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Unveils Budget Of Sustainability

The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Seyi Jakande, has convened Budget Retreat to chart the course for the council’s 2026 fiscal year under the theme: “Budget of Sustainability.”

The retreat, held on Wednesday, Dec 10, brought together principal officers, heads of departments and units, and key community stakeholders to deliberate on strategies that will ensure prudent resource management and sustainable development across the LCDA.

In his address, Hon. Jakande emphasized that the 2026 budget will focus on long-term impact, fiscal responsibility, and inclusive governance, ensuring that every initiative delivers measurable value to residents. According to him:

“Our 2026 budget is more than figures; it is a commitment to sustainability, equity, and progress. We are determined to build a resilient community where development is continuous and benefits every citizen.”

The Chairman outlined priority areas for the coming year, including infrastructure renewal, improved healthcare services, enhanced basic education, environmental sanitation, youth and women empowerment, and strengthened internal revenue generation systems. He stressed that transparency and accountability will remain the cornerstone of his administration.

The retreat featured presentations of 2025 performance reports, identification of operational gaps, and formulation of forward-looking strategies aligned with the LCDA’s development agenda. Participants were encouraged to adopt innovative, technology-driven approaches to improve service delivery and efficiency.

The retreat concluded with technical sessions on budgeting, procurement processes, and standardization, reinforcing the LCDA’s commitment to a realistic, people-centered financial plan for 2026.
