A former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Lagos, Princess Aderenle Adeniran Ogunsanya, at a press briefing today in Lagos told newsmen she is not mad with her frequent critics to All Progressives Congress (APC), she said it is her party, and it is her democratic right to say out loud what is not right without minding whose ox is gored.

“I am not so happy with what is going on in Lagos. Nobody enjoys fighting, I am not mad, if things were right, we would not complain.

“It is our democratic right to say out loud what we do not like. It is disgraceful that a state like Lagos cannot comport itself in a civilised manner. We hope the national executives at the national office in Abuja are taking notes of the things that are happening in Lagos.

“A lot of people are afraid to come out. I am not afraid, I am saying it must get better. They must change their style, the style in the past is no longer acceptable right now. And I hope this message goes out loud and clear. I get people called my family that they would kill me, that they should advise me to be careful that these people are dangerous.

“I have been cautioned but the caution doesn’t work with me because my agitation is in the interest of the people. My dividend in politics is when people say you touched my life. Keeping quiet and just saying yes sir doesn’t get me the satisfaction that I want.

“I’m 73 years old, I keep saying it and I say it for a reason. I don’t want my children and grandchildren to say grandma was in politics, what does she do, she just sat there and everything went bad. We must be able to voice that we are not happy with what is happening.

“Sometimes, some things can be cancerous but with “chemo”, it gets better. We need “chemo” to get better in APC right now. And it must be given very quickly because the after effect will not be comfortable for a lot of people.

“These are dangerous times and we must do something. People are suffering out there because of our inadequacies. Something has to be done.

She encouraged gentlemen of the press to stand up and resist being gagged.

“Most of you are young people, it is your time”. She said

“A lot of people have been humiliated for holding their views. We have a constitution, hence there must be a change and that is the message I want them to get loud and clear.

“I want to see the Lagos our fathers foresaw. I want to see young and agile people take over the power, they have the exposure, they are smart to identify issues and solutions.

“We are not enemies of APC, we want it to be a better party, but the way they are doing it, they are killing it slowly.

“Young people who contested for the local council election paid for nomination forms but no election was conducted. They should return the money to those children completely.

“We all know how hard it is to get five hundred and fifty thousand naira in this period, we need to do something. We need a better model of governance in Lagos and am sure at the end of this intervention, we would get a better government and that Governor would come from this side. She asserted

Seyi Soyinka and Funke Ijaiyekunle at different intervals buttressed princess Adenrele Ogunsanya’s agitations over the activities of APC handlers in Lagos state.
