Ikoyi Building Collapse: LASRERA To Hold 2nd Lagos Market Place Real Estate Conference
Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA) has concluded plans to host the second edition of Lagos Real Estate Market Place Conference and Exhibitions.
The Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Housing, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, on Friday stated that the Exhibitions will hold between Tuesday 7th to Wednesday, 8th December, 2021 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island.
Speaking on the theme of the Conference “Lagos: 21st Century Real Estate Investment Hub”, the Special Adviser said that there is need for all practitioners in the sector to come together for further engagement and networking with other players and practitioners in the real estate sector on how to drive marketing strategies and investment opportunities that will reduce the housing deficit in the State.
Benson-Awoyinka noted that the Conference and Exhibitions would help harmonize thoughts and views of stakeholders from the built sector on how the incidents of building collapse could be drastically reduced if not totally eliminated in the State.
While speaking on the recent building collapse in Ikoyi, Benson-Awoyinka, acknowledged the quick intervention of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the necessary steps he took to curtail the level of casualties and also empathize with Lagosians, including the setting up of tribunal of inquiry to unravel the root cause of the building collapse among other several crisis management measures put in place by the Governor.
Awoyinka reiterated that, LASRERA, as an Agency in the Built Sector, will continue to play its role as a regulator in the Real Estate Market to curb the proliferation of uncertified individuals and Corporate Practitioners in order to bring incidences of building collapse to the barest minimum.
She implored stakeholders in the built sector to support and collaborate with LASRERA in its efforts to address the issues of housing deficit in the State and ultimately create homeownership model that would meet the yearnings of the residents.
Benson-Awoyinka called on interested members of the public to attend the Conference and Exhibitions by registering for the event free at lasrera.lagosstate.gov.ng or https://2ndlagrealconference.eventbrite.com
While saying that the conference provides a platform to meet with verified Real Estate Stakeholders with affordable home purchase schemes, the Special Adviser, pledged the commitment of the State Government to the outcome and recommendations of the event.
