He’s Randy, Infected Me With STD – Wife Tells Court
…I promise to change my ways – Husband
A woman has approached an Agege Customary Court in Lagos State, seeking the dissolution of her seven-year old marriage to her husband over allegations of cheating and lack of care.
The petitioner, Mrs. Wosilat Bello, told the court that her husband, Isiaka was randy and irresponsible.
She further alleged that he infected her with STD after contracting the infection from one of his lovers.
“My parents warned me not to get married to a transporter, but I married him because he was persuasive,
“I later discovered that he already had two children from two different women. He lied to me while we were courting that the children were his late elder sister’s.
“I couldn’t walk out our marriage because I was already pregnant with our first child. After putting to bed, my husband became more irresponsible. He would leave the house for weeks on the pretext that he was transporting goods to the North.
“After spending weeks purportedly working, he would come home empty handed and emaciated. I would take up the responsibility of taking care of him and buying him multi vitamins.
“I have been the one taking sole responsibility of our children’s welfare. He also receives different calls at odd hours of the night. Sometimes, he would leave the house in the midnight claiming that he was going to clear some goods.
“He has infected me with STDS. I’m now afraid because I don’t want to have HIV or any incurable disease.
“I want to end this marriage and also pray the court to grant me custody of my two children,” she said.
The defendant was however not in support of divorce as he claimed to still love his wife.
“I promise to mend my ways. But the truth is that my wife is very stubborn. She goes ahead with her plans without taking me along. She also nags a lot which is why I sometimes leave the house so that we won’t end up fighting.
“I promise to change my ways, if she is willing to move back home with our two children,” he said.
The court president, R.A Williams, adjourned the case till July 18 and ordered the duo to come with two members from each of their families.
