Liverpool Players Reject New Training Ground, Ask To Return To Melwood

One of the great global benchmarks of training may end up becoming one of the biggest fiascos in memory, after the Liverpool players seem to have rejected the club’s new AXA Training Centre.

What is at stake is no less than 60 million euros, which is what the club spent to build the facility in Kirkby, where the Reds moved last November.

Now, four months later, the Sun report that the Liverpool players would rather go back to Melwood.

The truth is that the wind problems in the new facility seem to have been at least predictable. Many understood that this was coming. This is because the training ground is located in an area known as ‘Windy Harbour’, a location that does not seem ideal for the installation of a training ground.

As if that were not enough, the streak of results is not helping to facilitate the move, and there are even those blame it on the new facilities.

Since their move to Kirkby, Jurgen Klopp’s team have lost no fewer than seven of their 13 Premier League matches, as their qualification for next season’s Champions League looks in jeopardy.
