These are certainly not the best times for commercial sex workers
operating in AsabaDelta State as no fewer than seventy of them were recently evicted from their hotel rooms at a popular hotel around Cable Point for their alleged inability to pay rents.
In a mild-drama, the sex workers protesting in skimpy dressing, chanting songs in Igbo Language, translated “Manager leave us alone, we will not fuck you, instead we will go elsewhere,” were seen in various streets before they retired to drinking spot where they were making plans to vacate the hotel.
It was gathered that manager of the hotel had last week Tuesday issued them quit notice for spurious allegations including frivolous accusation, but some of the hookers who spoke to our correspondent on anonymity, however faulted the accusation by the hotel manager and accused him to trying of have sex with them adding that upon their refusal they were issued quit notice failure to which they will be thrown out.
Checks revealed that visiting prostitutes were allegedly subjected to sexual harassment by managers of their hotels while on their refusal they are thrown out or framed up for police cases.
One of the prostitutes identified as Abigail, a 300 level law student, who claimed to be on self sponsorship at a popular university in the South East, said they have been in the hotel for over two months and have been paying as at when due, adding that business in recent times dropped, as a result delayed their payment for a day that was subsequently paid the following day.
Unconfirmed source said while sexual intercourse lasted during their sex business time; hotel supervisors allegedly watch them via the door key hole in most cases.
A supervisor in the hotel who did not want his name mentioned in the print, explained that the protesting prostitutes were unable to pay their hotel bills, adding that they were ejected from their hotel rooms when the management exhausted its patience.
