Conference 57 Elects New Leaders, Alabi Emerges Chairman, Egunjobi As Vice Chairman Lagos West

The Chairmen elected on Saturday, July 24th, 2021, at the Lagos State Local Government election earlier today received their certificates of return and were sworn in by the Governor of Lagos state, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Worldtopnewsng reports.

The 57 Chairmen, all elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) were given the certificates by the Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Retd. Justice Ayotunde Philips at the Commission’s office in Yaba, which was immediately followed by inauguration ceremony at Lagos house, Ikeja.

The Chairman of Agege Local Government, Alhaji Ganiyu Egunjobi, and his Vice, Gbenga Abiola, were inaugurated by the Governor after taking their oaths of office.

The Chairmen under the umbrella of Conference 57 after their inauguration elected Chairman Bariga LDCA, Hon Kolade Alabi, as Chairman and Egunjobi as Vice Chairman Lagos West Senatorial District while Odiolowo-Ojuwoye was given Secretary.

The Chairmen elected into executive positions of Conference 57 were:

Hon. Alabi Kolade David – Chairman

Hon Ganiyu Egunjobi – Vice Chairman Lagos West

Hon Toyese Olusi- Vice chairman Lagos Central

Hon Dele Osinowo – Vice chairman Lagos East

Hon Rasaq Ajala – Secretary

Hon Rashidat Essien – Treasurer

Hon Rashidat Adu – Welfare officer

Hon Sesan Daini – Public Relation officer

Hon Joseph Gbenu – Finance Secretary

Hon Fatai Ayoola – Legal

Hon Jelili Sulaiman – Organsing secretary

Hon Anomo Adewale Ibrahim – Ex Officio

Sanwo-Olu congratulated the newly elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen across all the LGAs and LCDAs, stressing that their victory is an affirmation of trust in their competence, capacity and capability to discharge the responsibility of the Office they are stepping into. Being the closest tier of Government to the people, any gap or shortcoming in administration will be deeply felt by the people. As a result, their policies and programmes must be people-oriented, focusing on how to improve the lives and livelihood of the people at the grassroots.

The Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Hon Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa( Speaker LAHA), Hon Rotimi Olowo, the commissioner for Local Govemment and community affairs, Dr. Wale Hamed, Lagos APC chairman, Hon Tunde Balogun, Oba Riliwan Akiolu, Mr Hakeem Muri Okunola (Head of service), Mr Tayo Ayinde (Chief of Sfaff), Hon Kamal Bayewu, Chairman Lagos Civil Service Commission and other commissioners were in attendance.
