The Assistant Director News, Voice of Nigeria (VON), Lagos Bureau, Dr. Qasim Akinreti has been declared Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos Chapter, in a keenly contested election held at the Lagos State Television (LTV) corridor, Alausa, Ikeja the state capital today (Friday, September 29, 2017).
Dr. Akinreti who scored 288 votes defeated his opponent, Adeleye Ajayi of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) by 16 votes.
Speaking exclusively with worldtopnewsng.com, Akinreti said the triumph is for all Lagos journalists “this is a new dawn, beginning of a new era, the victory isn’t for only me but for every one of us”, he stated.
He thanked his campaign organization (Akinreti Mandate) team for job well done.
