Barcelona Win The Basketball Clasico Once Again 76-81
Barcelona beat Real Madrid 81-76 at WiZink Center on Thursday night, as they did the EuroLeague regular season double over their arch-rivals.
Sarunas Jasikevicius’ side also beat Los Blancos at the Palau Blaugrana earlier in the campaign, so this will hurt for Pablo Laso and his players.
It was a pretty tight game throughout, with Barcelona’s five-point lead at the end of the first quarter staying true at the end of the game.
One notable aspect of Barcelona’s play was the way in which they shared the scoring load, with Pierre Oriola (18), Nikola Mirotic (13), Nick Calathes (11) and Kyle Kuric (11) all getting into double figures, while they had six players get at least seven points to Real Madrid’s four.
This win is Barcelona’s third straight in the competition, and it ensures that they remain at the top of the EuroLeague standings with a record of 20-8. Real Madrid, meanwhile, are sixth after winning 17 and losing 11 of their opening 28 games.
