Manchester United Beat Granada Home&Away To Reach Europa League Semi-finals

Granada’s first ever Europa League campaign came to an end as they lost 2-0 at Old Trafford, giving Manchester United a 4-0 aggregate win.

The Spaniards’ task was always going to be an uphill battle having lost 2-0 in Spain a week ago, but Edinson Cavani made their work all the more challenging when he opened the scoring early on before Jesus Vallejo put into his own goal late on.

Granada hadn’t even found their feet before falling behind. Cavani, with a fine finish, killed the tie after just six minutes. A ball fell his way in the area and he showed his poacher’s instinct by sending a perfectly place volley into the bottom corner.

Yangel Herrera passed up two headed chances to level things up on the night, which might have made things more interesting in the second half, but it wasn’t to be.

Just as they did in the first leg, United scored late in the second. In the final minute of the 90, Juan Mata glanced a header towards goal that Vallejo was only able to turn into his own net.
