Barcelona Made Contact With Joachim Low
The uncertainty over who Barcelona’s new coach would be at the start of next season was resolved when Joan Laporta confirmed that Ronald Koeman will remain in charge at the Camp Nou.
However, this decision had not been set in stone and it has emerged that one of the candidates that the club considered was Joachim Low.
Bild has revealed that the club contacted the Germany coach in March and, although the date was not specified, it is worth remembering that Joan Laporta became president on March 7.
Low reiterated to the club that he is looking to take a sabbatical year when he leaves his post with Germany after the European Championship this summer.
However, he could fast-track his return to the dugout at the end of this year should an attractive offer arrive, and he has always dreamt of the chance to coach Barcelona.
Koeman’s continuation at Barcelona came after a disappointing end to the season. Should this continue, we could see Low taking over at the Camp Nou sometime in the near future.
