Babalola, Ajibola Lead Other Muslim Leaders To MUSWEN 3rd General Assembly In Ibadan

President, Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), Dr Sakariyau Babalola will on Sunday May 7, lead over 350 Muslim Leaders from the six states in the South West to discuss the issue of good governance and progress of the Muslims in the region.
 
In a statement by Dr Wole Abbas, chairman planning committee of MUSWEN third General Assembly stated that Babalola, who doubles as Deputy President General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and chairman of the Assembly, would be accompanied by the governors of the six states.
 
Others being expected are all members of the MUSWEN BOT led by Prince Bola Ajibola, Central Working Committee (CWC) led by Prof Daud Noibi, Executive Secretary of MUSWEN, leaders of state Muslim communities, leaders of major Islamic organisations as well as Leagues of Imams and Alfas.
 
The statement added that other delegates are major political office holders, Muslim titled holders being led by Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola and other Muslim Leaders in the public, private and social sectors.
 
Abbas said that Prof. Lai Olurode, former Dean, Faculty of Social Science, University of Lagos and former National Commissioner of INEC will deliver the lecture entitled : “Good Governance’’.
 
He added that the General Assembly, which is geared towards deepening the unity of the Ummah and set it on the path to greater progress, will hold at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
 
Other highlights of the Assembly include consideration of the Report of CWC, the Financial Report and the Auditor’s Report.
 
MUSWEN, inaugurated in August 2008, is the umbrella body for all Muslims in South Western Nigeria and has provided leadership for and helped deepen peace and unity among Muslim stakeholders in the region.
