Lagos Community Appeals To Ambode, IGP, CP For Reversal Of Street Name

The residences of former Connal Road, Yaba, Lagos has appealed to the state governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris and Commissioner of Police, Ag./CP Edgal Imohimi for the reversal of unlawful and Illegal renaming of the road after one Mr Boa Akindele, the M.D. of Courteville Business Solution Plc in 2014 by some individual in Yaba LCDA without the knowledge of the community members or the state government.

The connal road community comprises of over 7 different housing estates including the Post Army Housing Estate Marda Barracks and over 200 households.

The whole community according to information revealed to worldtopnewsng.com that is been tormented and harrassed by the Mr Akindele in conjunction with some policemen at State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti.

The Connal Road community wrote a petition to the Yaba LCDA in November 2014 when they carried out the illegal renaming of the street which they didn’t respond nor reply the community’s letter.

The street in question according to a community leader who pleaded anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter told worldtopnewsng.com that the street was rehabilitated by the members of the community in 2014 at a cost of 17 million naira without any contribution from Mr Akindele who own four units of terrace house on an adjacent street off the renamed road in question “he is using his wealth to disturb and harass the community members by arresting and submitting names of key member of the community to the police at SCID Panti for arrest and treats”, the source disclosed.

“We call and will appreciate if the respected and hard working Governor of Lagos state, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode and the new Commssioner of Police, Ag./CP Edgal Imohimi to order their men to stay off the matter as the community is already taking the case to court since the LCDA refuse to respond to their petition.”

“Mr Bola Akindele does not contribute to the development or security of the community but he want the street he does not live or contribute to the rehabilitation name after him.”

“These are the same people that will say the government is not doing anything and they are using the same money they make through the government and to torment people and discredit the same government. We hope and pray that Mr Bola Akindele does not put the peaceful community he does not live into chaotic environment.
