#OsunDecides2018: INEC Declares Osun Governorship Election Inconclusive

After hours of suspense, anxiety, fear, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)  has declared the Osun governorship election inconclusive.

 

This follows an irregularities that marred the election in few local governments.

 

The tension-soaked election was in favour of PDP governorship candidate, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke who polled a total votes of 254, 698 against Gboyega Oyetola of APC who scored 254, 345.

 

“By the powers conferred on the chief returning officer of the election, the election is hereby declared inconclusive and a rerun is hereby ordered in cancelled local government council area of Orolu, Oshogbo, etc because if the number of cancelled votes is greater than the difference between the candidates and thus no winner is announced.”
