Agege LG Legislative Arm Crisis Deepens As Legislators Suspend Former Leader, Majority Leader

The crisis rocking Agege Local Government Legislative Arm took a new dimension today at the plenary where legislators suspended the former leader, Kola Anigbajumo and Majority Leader, Odejobi Kabiru, worldtopnewsng.com reports.

Recall, worldtopnewsng.com had earlier reported that the suspended officials were impeached on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, for gross misconduct, inexperience, incompetence and insensitive to the sitting of the legislators.

The legislators also passed the Y2021 budget presented by the Executive Chairman, Mr Ganiyu Egunjobi.

In a document made available to worldtopnewsng.com after the plenary session, the councillors also summoned the council Supervisor for Works, Mr Sola Osolana, over his role after the impeachment of former principal officers.

The legislators passed the following resolutions:

1. Passed the Year 2021 fiscal budget presented by the Executive Chairman.

2. The legislators have also suspended the former Leader of the Legislative Arm, Muyideen Kola Anigbajumo and former Majority Leader, Odejobi Kabir indefinitely.

3. The legislators ordered the suspended lawmakers today immediately return all properties and items belonging to the Local Government in their possession; while the offices of the suspended councillors were sealed.

4. The lawmakers have summoned Mr Sola Osolana, Supervisor for Works, Agege Local Government Council to appear before the lawmakers to explain why he led thugs into the Legislative complex amidst the impeachment of the suspended councillors.

The plenary was led by the newly elected Leader of the Legislative Arm, Mr Joel Olabode Adigun.
