A popular right activist, public social commentator and political observer, Comrade Razaq Olokoba has reasoned that, the most befitting reward for Lagos Governor, Babjide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s antecedence as a loyal disciple, disciplined and trusted party member and superlative performance in office is giving him a resounding victory next year for a second term in office.
Olokoba, who is the Convener of the Coalition of Civil Society Organization for Sanwo-Olu and National President, Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), made the statement in a chat with our reporter in Lagos Monday, where he described the governor as a loyal disciple and trusted party man and so should be entrusted with the affairs of the state for a second term tenure from next year, 2023.
The vocal activist reminded the role of Sanwo-Olu during the pursuit of presidential ambition of his mentor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that eventually led to a land slide victory to the Jagaban of Borgu and his cool headedness before, during and after his endorsement for a second term in office by the Lagos Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), reasoning that, “therefore, Sanwo-Olu also deserves the type of victory his mentor, Tinubu recorded at the Eagles Square for his second term next year.
According to Olokoba, since good turn deserves another, it would be a disservice to Sanwo-Olu if the people fail to pay him back in his own coin by supporting him to win overwhelmingly in the next year’s governorship election, stressing the need to vote for him en masse as a sign of reciprocity for his performance and achievements as a governor during his first term that started in 2019.
Olokoba therefore urged the people and residents of the state to double their support for the governor as a sign of appreciation for all the above mentioned characteristics to encourage him to double his effort in doing more for the people and as a form of reciprocity for his good manner towards humanity through provision of required dividends of democracy indiscriminately to the people of the state irrespective of their political affiliation, religious inclination or ethnic origins.
The youthful youth leader asserted that, nothing short of a second term in office for Sanwo-Olu would amount to disservice to him and that would not be good enough adding that, “this is the time to show Sanwo-Olu and his team that their efforts all this while would not be in vain.
