The Sarkin Fulani of Lagos State and Chairman, Association of Fulani Chiefs, South-west Nigeria, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Bambado has frowned at the comments made by theformer Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Theophelus Yakubu Danjuma (Rtd) where he, TY Danjuma, incited the populace to take up arms against fellow Nigerians.

The Monarch, who described the comment as disappointing, sad, unfortunate and unexpected of people of TY Danjuma’s calibre in the society wondered why he chose such an avenue to talk on such a volatile issue when he knows how to get across to his friend in the villa without heating up the polity.

“He has access to his friend, President Muhammadu Buhari and can easily take all his “evidences” (If any) to him, but telling people to arm themselves is an invitation to anarchy, which, when it happens will consume us all,” the Monarch stated.

He therefore advised the elder statesman to thread softly in matters that can pitch Nigerians against their fellow compatriots, reminding him that, as an expert in security matters, he should know better that his comments can cause havoc of an unimaginable proportion in the country.

Retired Gen. T.Y Danjuma, during a convocation lecture at Taraba State University advised Nigerians to take up arms to defend themselves, warning, if not, they would be killed one by one.
