Wolves Pierce Manchester United Champions League Hopes

Manchester United saw an early lead disappear as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Wolves at Molineux on Tuesday evening.

Scott McTominay had given the Premier League giants an advantage after just 13 minutes, as they looked well placed to move back into the Champions League places.

Raul Jimenez teed up Diogo Jota to level things midway through the first half, and United‘s day just got worse from there.

Ashley Young was carded twice within the first 12 minutes of the second half and was dismissed.

Chris Smalling had the misfortune of being the match-winner as he put into his own goal with 77 minutes on the clock.

United remain fifth on 61 points, but Chelsea are just a point behind and host Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday.
