Two Arsenal Players Sent Off In Wolves Comeback Win

Wolverhampton Wanderers came back from a goal down to beat Arsenal 2-1 with the Gunners also having two players sent off in the game.

Nicholas Pepe gave the Gunners the lead, when he brilliantly curled the ball past Rui Patrício, and that came after Arsenal had hit the woodwork on two occasions, as well as having a goal disallowed.

Just before the break though, things started to go downhill as David Luiz was sent off for a foul on Willian Jose in the box, and Ruben Neves stepped up to convert the resulting penalty.

After the restart, Joao Moutinho rifled an excellent 30 yard effort past Bernd Leno, which put Wolves ahead.

Leno was given a red card for handling the ball outside his own box, and became just the second goalkeeper to be sent off in a Premier League game for Arsenal after David Seaman against West Ham in November 1993.

Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard was a mere spectator as he remained on the bench for the entire 90 minutes.

The win was Wolves’ first in nine Premier League games and leaves the club 13th in the table. Meanwhile, Arsenal remain in 10th position.
