De Bruyne Against The Super League: The Most Important Thing Is Competing

Spread the love

Kevin De Bruyne has become the latest player to express his stance against the proposed European Super League.

James Milner had done similarly on Monday, before Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson spoke on behalf of the entire squad to echo what Milner had said. Then, on Tuesday, De Bruyne posted his thoughts on social media.

“This man comes out of a little town in Belgium dreaming of playing at the highest stage possible,” De Bruyne wrote in a long post.

“I’ve represented the Belgium [sic], German and English league. I have worked and competed against everybody trying to win the ultimate.

“But the most important thing is COMPETING. With all events that [have] been happening the last few days maybe this is the good moment for everybody to come together and try the [sic] work for a solution.

“We know this is a big business and I know I am part of this business. But still I am a little boy who just loves to play football. It’s not about a certain entity in this case, it’s about football all over the whole world.

“Let’s keep inspiring the next generation of footballers and keep the fans dreaming.”
