Super Sub Morata Gives Juventus Three Points

Juventus turned on the style in the second half and grabbed a 3-0 victory over Spezia thanks to goals from Alvaro Morata, Federico Chiesa and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Chiesa had a goal ruled out for offside early in the game, but the Old Lady failed to produce any clear-cut chances up until just before the break when Ronaldo unleashed a strike which crashed against the post.

Andrea Pirlo decided to shuffle Juventus’ deck on the hour mark by sending on Morata and Federico Bernardeschi.

His double change paid dividends as the latter teed up the former with one of their first touches in the game to unlock Spezia’s defence and put the hosts ahead.

Chiesa doubled Juventus’ lead with a strike from inside the box and Ronaldo netted a third with one minute to go after Rodrigo Bentacur’s pass on the counter.

Then, Merih Demiral gave away a penalty late into stoppage time, but Wojciech Szczesny pulled off a brilliant save to deny Andrey Galabinov and keep a clean sheet.

Juventus now sit third in the Serie A table, seven points behind leaders Inter, while Spezia are 16th, seven points outside the relegation zone.
